Organ Night and Aria festival celebrates its 30th Anniversary
About our performers
“The baritone Petteri Salomaa finished the concert with songs from Sibelius’s Josephson cycle, accompanied by Tuija Hakkila, and the late-romantic passions exuded with agony, almost destructively, painting a mindscape that was magical and sombre in its symbolism.”
Helsingin Sanomat, Hannu-Ilari Lampila, on Taite ry anniversary concert on 5 Dec 2013 at G18
“While the soprano Helena Juntunen has already established herself as one of the finest performers of traditional bel-canto today, nothing could prepare us for the vocal acrobatics that we heard in Ladies Room. Unerring pitch and brilliantly lustrous high notes combined with constantly changing tone and sharp shifts of mood showed that she is a soulful actor with an unwavering technique.”
Helsingin Sanomat, Jukka Isopuro, on Perttu Haapanen’s composition concert at Temppeliaukio Church on 11 March 2007. Avanti!
“The soloist was the stellar Laura Mikkola, whose completely effortless virtuosity never ceases to amaze, always serving the composer and the music, and those alone.”
Kaleva, Hannu Hirvelä, on Uuden Musiikin Lokakuu at the Madetoja Hall 2.11.2013.
The evening’s soloist Joonatan Rautiola commanded the stage with Jacques Ilbert’s chamber concerto for alto saxophone and orchestra. The biggest merit in his virtuoso-like musicianship is the incredibly versatile dynamic scale from barely audible pianissimos to raucous forte.
